Logitech G650 or Logitech Z623? Which one should you get for your geming setup? Short comparison reviw

Today we will compare two popular 2.1 speaker systems from Logitech, namely Logitech Z623 and Logitech G560. Which one is better? I am glad You asked ;)

Build Quality

Build quality is similar in both systems, far from spectacular to be honest, but I have to admit that G560 looks better to me and feels more premium. Regarding the features, G560 is better equipped as it has Bluetooth connectivity and - its biggerst selling feature - LED backlightning. LED backlight in G560 looks cool and creates nice mood while listetning to music or watching movies but it is not a necessity for sure. I have to point out that both of these systems suffer from very short cables that connects subwoofer with satellite speakers, which limits the the placement options severly.

Sound Quality

Soundwise they both have bass response that is too loose and boomy, smugging the low mids, but G560 is a bit tighter of the two in the bass response. Actually the bass is where I usually have an issue with cheap 2.1 systems, mostly because of a subwoofer that is too slow and do not integrate well with the satellite speakers. This kind of performance from the subwoofer makes it always audible as a seperate source of sound and destroys the coherence while listetning to music. Unfortunately both Z623 and G560 fall into this category.  Mids in G560 are a tad more natural and less harsh compared to Z623. Treble is where I find both lacking but again I have to give a slight edge to G560, it sounds a bit more extended and airy. Both can play very loud but it is the kind of loud sound that works mostly with movies and games, but music becomes unlistenable fast on these on higher levels drowned in excessive bass. G560 works slightly better than Z623 for movies and games, thanks to more clarity and coherence in mids, plus the bass hits harder with a tighter punch (but again the difference is narrow).

Conclusion

If i was to pick one of these two systems just by how it sounds than I would go for G560 it is a bit more musical and works as well as Z623 for movies and games. Unfortunately for G560 in most shops around the world is much more expensive than Z623 and in my opinion overall quality do not justifies the price difference, unless you really need those LED lights. Both of these are more suited to movie watching and gaming, music listetning on these two is not a very plesant experience in my opinion.
